Collins Retravision at Toowoomba has shown new local support for RACQ CareFlight by donating electrical equipment for the new Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre at the Toowoomba Airfield.

The Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre is not just office and hangar space, it is also home to the RACQ CareFlight crew on call for the weekend and school holiday service -CareFlight south west.

To make the new Centre more like home for the crew, Collins Retravision recently donated a TV and DVD unit for the crew.

“We think it is fantastic to have a local RACQ CareFlight base here because it is caring for local people.  A lot of these people are customers of ours,” John Collins said.

“The Collins family have been in the electrical business in Toowoomba since 1927, and we believe that the service is a real asset to Toowoomba and the surrounding districts.”

Pilot with CareFlight south west Adrian Park said it was the little touches like this that made the Centre a nicer place to stay for his weekends on call.

“We stay at the Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre for our weekends on call, so it’s great to have some of the comforts of home on hand,” Captain Park said.

“Other businesses can also help – we’re in need of some new beds, and a water tank and pump to store rainwater so we can keep the helicopter clean.”

RACQ CareFlight performs a range of different missions, from transporting patients between hospitals as an aerial ambulance; to search and rescue missions. 

Other missions require them to fly their team of pilot, rescue crewman, doctor and paramedic direct to the scene of accidents to assist.  Many of these accidents could happen to anyone.
