RACQ CareFlight airlifted a 42 year old Gold Coast woman from Lower Beechmont in the Gold Coast hinterland yesterday (Sunday April 1).
Her car had left the road and fallen down a 150 metre embankment. The CareFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic were winched down to the scene from the RACQ CareFlight helicopter.
With the help of the State Emergency Services and the Rural Fire Brigade, the 42 year old woman from Ashmore was carried from the scene. She suffered just a sprained ankle in the accident and was transferred by road ambulance to the Gold Coast Hospital.
RACQ CareFlight is a medical and rescue helicopter service on stand-by 24 hours a day for people who are sick or injured in southern Queensland and northern New South Wales.
