Moreton Bay will play host to plenty of rigging and rudder adjusting on Friday September 14 when seasoned sailors show willing newcomers the ropes, all in the name of charity.
“We are asking people to buy a boat for the day. It can be a motor or sail boat with skipper supplied. All you have to do is organise a crew, it will be an extremely enjoyable day,” said Connor McManus, Wynnum and Manly Rotary Club.
The Wynnum and Manly Rotary Club is hoping to attract plenty of corporate crews who are looking for a unique team bonding experience.
“This is certainly the perfect way to reward staff, encourage team morale or treat valued clients. Sailing on Moreton Bay knowing you are supporting a lifesaving service in RACQ CareFlight is certainly a satisfying start to the weekend,” said Mr McManus.
Those keen to test their ‘nautical know how’ will be treated to champagne on arrival and a seafood lunch complimented by beer and wine.
“Spend your day in the lap of luxury on one of the best cruising grounds in the world. The more crews the more money going to RACQ CareFlight, the not-for profit air -medical helicopter helping more than 3000 people every year,” said Mr McManus.
The Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly has been setting sail for charity for more than ten years.
