RACQ CAREFLIGHT AIRLIFTS 2 SKYDIVERS AFTER PLANE CRASH

Remarkably only one person was seriously injured when a single-engine Cessna, carrying a group of sky divers lost power and crash landed in a paddock at Jacobs Well.

RACQ CareFlight was called to the scene just before 11am.

“We were shocked to see some of the passengers actually walking around the accident scene and the aircraft with only minor structural damage, those on board were very lucky," said CareFlight Air Crewman Jarrod Holmes.

A 36 year old female from Southport fractured her vertebrae on impact and had to be transported by RACQ CareFlight to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.  A 24 year old male from Browns Plain was air-lifted complaining of severe chest pain.  The other three people on board were taken to different Hospitals by road ambulance for observation.

It’s believed the Cessna 182 lost partial power forcing the pilot to perform an emergency landing.

“The plane hit nose first, but because the ground was wet from the recent rain it dug in and tipped then slid about 30 metres, said Jarrod Holmes.
