RACQ CareFlight’s Lear Jet will transport 11 year old Connor Maclean to his very own concert at the Southport RSL on Thursday 20 September.

Rock 4 Connor has been organised especially for the chronically ill youngster so he can fulfil his dream of being a rock star.  As a sufferer of Vacteral Syndrome, Connor relies on daily medical procedures every three hours to keep him alive. 

To ensure the little fighter’s journey from Coffs Harbour to the Gold Coast is as safe and as comfortable as possible RACQ CareFlight has jumped on board this community initiative, agreeing to provide one of their air ambulances with a nurse escort for the ‘star of the show.’

“So many people have pulled together to make this little boy’s wish come true and we are proud to be a part of making this happen,” said CareFlight CEO Ashley van de Velde.

 Connor’s life has been an uphill battle since birth.  His internal organs do not function properly and his skeleton is missing bones or in some cases bones are fused together.

“An enormous amount of organisation has gone into the event, but getting him there was always a concern, I can’t thank RACQ CareFlight enough. Correct transport is crucial for Connor with his extensive medical requirements.” said Connor’s mum Cheryl Maclean. 

Although he’s had over 40 operations in his short life, Connor is always smiling and loves belting out the tunes.

 Local musicians Casey Barnes and Dan Carroll are the supporting acts for the night, with Connor set to steal the show performing 3 songs, including his single recorded by Sony BMG which will be released that evening…
