2 YR OLD KICKED IN FACE BY HORSE

The RACQ CareFlight helicopter was called to Kingaroy around 9am after a 2 year old boy was kicked in the face by a horse.

“Apparently he was on a property just outside of Kingraoy with mum and dad when the horse kicked and he was standing behind, said CareFlight Air Crewman Luke Pagano.

The RACQ CareFlight crew flew to the Mater Hospital and picked up a specialised Paediatric Team before heading out to Kingaroy Local Hospital where the toddler was being treated.

“The medical team spent at least an hour at the hospital ensuring the little boy was stable enough to fly before transporting him back to the Mater Children’s Hospital for head scans. He was a very small 2 year old, but mum was there the entire time, she accompanied him on board the helicopter back to Brisbane with us, said Luke Pagano.

The 2 year old was in a serious but stable condition with possible head injuries.

RACQ CareFlight is there for the people of northern NSW and southern QLD 24/7 at no direct cost to the patient.
