The RACQ CareFlight helicopter was forced to land on the eastern side beach of South Stradbroke Island after a 60 year old woman fell from a Jet Ski.
The Ashmore lady was enjoying the summer sunshine about 1km north of South Stradbroke Island when the Jet Ski she was riding hit her after she was thrown off.
“The poor lady must have been hit hard. Her nose, eye socket and lower left leg all appeared broken,” said RACQ CareFlight Crewman Luke Pagano.
Other Jet Skiers helped her to shore where the RACQ CareFlight helicopter had landed.
“The patient was conscious when the CareFlight medical team got to her, she told us she hit a big wave sideways and was thrown off the Jet Ski, it then came down on top of her” said Luke Pagano.
The RACQ CareFlight helicopter flew the patient to Carey Park where waiting Ambulance crews unloaded the 60 year old and transported her by road to Gold Coast Hospital. She was in a stable condition.
