The RACQ CareFlight medical team treated a seriously injured Palm Beach man after the ute he was passenger in was hit by a truck at Worongary this afternoon.
“There were multiple casualties, but when we arrived at the scene the CareFlight Doctor and I were quickly pointed in the direction of a male who was determined to be in the most serious condition, said RACQ CareFlight Paramedic, Greg Reaburn.
The patient suffered a serious head wound and multiple broken ribs to the right side of his chest.
“At the scene we worked to release some of the pressure from his lung cavity and we were able to help with his pain,” said Greg Reaburn.
Early reports suggested multiple cars were hit when a truck travelling at high speed crossed onto the wrong side of the highway.
The RACQ CareFlight medical team escorted the Palm Beach man by road ambulance to the Gold Coast Hospital in a serious condition.
