SECOND HORSE RIDING ACCIDENT IN TWO DAYS

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man injured in a horse riding accident at Esk earlier today.

The man was breaking in a horse that had not been ridden for quite some time when the horse bucked and threw him against a tree.

“Apparently the horse became agitated when it came into contact with  a mare and as a result became spooked and threw the rider from his back,” said RACQ CareFlight Rescue Air Crewman, Ryan Purchase.

The patient is suffering from chest and back pain.  He will be treated by doctors at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

This incident follows another horse riding accident yesterday at Tamborine Village, where a 48 year old woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with abdominal injuries.

ENDS.
