MOTORCYCLIST COLLIDES WITH KANGAROO

                                                                                           29 April 2010

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue Helicopter airlifted a 37-year-old man to Toowoomba Hospital following a single motorcycle crash near Texas on April 29.

The man was transported to Texas Hospital by the Queensland Ambulance Service and the RACQ CareFlight Helicopter was then tasked to the hospital around 11am.

CareFlight Doctor Mike Saunders said the man suffered multiple injuries in the crash.

“The patient was riding his motorbike near Texas this morning when he collided with a kangaroo, injuring his elbow and suffering severe lacerations.  He will require surgery on the elbow injury and will also undergo further scans at Toowoomba Hospital on his back and neck to rule out any other serious injuries,” he said.

The patient was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
