WOMEN AIRLIFTED AFTER SERIOUS CRASH

                                                                               3 May 2010

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted two seriously injured women to hospital in Brisbane following a two vehicle car crash at Geham on May 3.

The helicopter was tasked to the scene, between Toowoomba and Crows Nest, around midday.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue Air Crewman Peter Mellor said the two women, aged 16 and 42, were travelling in one of the vehicles involved.

“"The 16-year-old female driver has suffered suspected spinal injuries, chest injuries and severe lacerations. Her passenger is also suffering a suspected spinal injury, along with a severe knee injury. Our critical care doctor treated both patients at the scene to stabilise them for flight," he said.
