About Us
CMS holds the largest public health contract in the Southern Hemisphere, supplying doctors on behalf of Queensland Health for emergency retrievals, hospital transfers and specialist consultants to the Queensland Coordination Centre (QCC) which tasks all air medical rescues throughout the state.
As a division of CareFlight Group Queensland, CMS upholds the company's renowned world-class medical model which ensures a critical care doctor and paramedic are on board every mission.
CMS is an accredited training facility with three Australian Critical Care Colleges; the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and the College of Intensive Care Medicine. CMS is also an accredited teaching facility for James Cook University.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics work in conjunction with CMS Doctors and are an essential part of CareFlight’s medical response, ensuring our patients receive the highest level of care.
All net profit proceeds from CMS are used to provide doctors on board every RACQ CareFlight (CareFlight's not-for-profit 24/7 helicopter rescue service) mission at no direct cost to CareFlight or the patient.
