Expressions of interest are sought from Advanced Trainees in any of the Critical Care specialties who would like to spend a six month or longer term as an Air Medical Retrieval Registrar with CareFlight Medical Services (CMS) in Queensland, Australia.

CMS employ critical care doctors with a taste for adventure to work on board rescue helicopters and fixed-wing aircrafts. We are part of the local Queensland communities we serve, and offer professional, innovative, quality medical services that make a real difference where it matters.

Positions are accredited with Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM), Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), and College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM - with approval) for six months training in Retrieval Medicine. Duties include helicopter, turboprop fixed wing, jet fixed wing and rapid response road ambulance retrievals, and helicopter rescue tasking.

A comprehensive induction training program is provided incorporating aviation medicine, pre-hospital scenario management, helicopter underwater escape training (HUET), and aircraft operational and safety instruction. CMS has a robust QA and CME program.

Positions are available commencing February and August each year, with term durations of six - twelve months.
