Commercial Repatriation

Repatriation of patients on a commercial airline stretcher option can be provided by CareFlight Air Ambulance in an international capacity.

CareFlight Air Ambulance critical care medical staff travel on-board with the patient to ensure all their medical needs are met throughout the flight. Equipment is airline approved in advance and medical staff accompany the patient until they arrive at their receiving facility or are handed over to their receiving medical crew.

Whilst commercial repatriations are only available on board select airlines, CareFlight's Emergency Response Centre staff and our partnering travel service can assist with ensuring that this process is managed with efficiency and ease.

Medical staff are also available (in select and appropriate instances) to accompany seated patients on commercial aircraft in both domestic and international capacity. As a commercial aircraft is larger and fly longer distances without refuelling, this method of transport is often both an effective, suitable and cost efficient option.
