Boat Fire
The RACQ CareFlight helicopter has returned to base with no patients on board after being tasked to a boat fire more than 20 nautical miles off Point Danger.
A CareFlight Paramedic was winched down to assess the three people, but they were not hurt. They are now on board a VMR boat being brought back to shore.
CareFlight Aircrewman Ryan Purchase said the vessel was burnt to the water line.
“When we arrived overhead the men were all safely on board a large fishing boat that had gone over to help,” he said.
It’s believed two of the three people were on a jet ski at the time of the explosion. The other person, who was on board at the time, was forced to jump into the water.
