Roof fall leaves man in serious condition
The RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter has been tasked to a property south west of Toowoomba to airlift a 63 year old male who has fallen from a roof.
RACQ CareFlight Air Crewman Mark Arthur said the man was helping a mate with a house restoration when the accident occurred.
“The rest of the workers left the man alone for just a few moments and when they returned he was laying on the ground,” he said.
“So at this stage, it’s unsure whether the man fell from the roof or a ladder or how far he fell.
“No one actually witnessed the accident.”
“The patient was unconscious when CareFlight arrived and our paramedic intubated him at the scene. He was dropping in and out of consciousness.”
“Once he was stabilised, we airlifted the man to the PA Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition,” he said.
