Two young females airlifted after head-on crash

The RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter (Gold Coast) airlifted two females seriously injured in a multi vehicle accident at Aratula on the Cunningham Highway.

It’s believed two cars collided head-on. 

The RACQ CareFlight helicopter transported a 21-yr-old female and a 20-yr-old female who were travelling in different cars at the time of the accident.

Air Crewman John Anderson said the 20-yr-old patient has multiple leg and pelvic fractures and a closed head injury.

"The 21-yr-old patient has minor head and back injuries," he said.

Both patients were in a stable condition and flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
